Once I had performed it to Rachel and Katie, I was asked to do it like somebody who was keeping a secret would do it. Because I wasn't expecting to be asked to do it differently on the spot, I found it difficult at first to find a way of doing it. I was happy with the way that I performed this at such short notice. Katie then asked me to perform it with a lot of anger. Again, because of being put on the spot, I found it quite challenging but I was really happy with what I managed to do.
After I had performed the monologue in the three different ways I got asked a series of questions such as, 'what are your strengths and weaknesses', 'what sort of challenge would you like' and 'what do you know about the play'. My answer to the question about the challenge I would like that I would like to do some naturalistic acting. The reason I answered this way was because I had not had a lot of experience in this so it would be nice to gain some knowledge in this field of acting.
I answered the strengths and weaknesses, I answered this question with the same answer of naturalistic answer. I did this because I don't have experience in this and so I wanted to let Rachel and Katie know that although this is a weak spot, I want to work on it.

In this workshop we started off by playing a couple of movement games to get everybody warmed up and in the zone to start doing some acting. Katie then split us into groups and told us about our improvisation task. We were then given a slip of paper with a situation on it. Our group which consisted of Myself, Taylor, Amber, Holly Hop and Bryleah. Our first scene had to be funny. Our setting was a hairdressers. I played a particularly over friendly hairdresser. I was really happy with how this went especially as we didn’t have too long to sort out and lines we were going to use beforehand.
Our next scene was meant to be an angry one. Our prompt for this was a family having dinner. We set it about a cheating father. I found it quite hard to be convincingly angry without making it seem silly.
Our final scene was a serious and naturalistic scene about a funeral. This was hard to do again without it looking forced or too fake. There was some crying from some members of the cast which helped everybody feel sad...
After we had shown our three scenes we were told to put them together with some sort of links in between so that the whole thing would flow into one story.
I found the workshop really useful because we set it out in the same kind of way as the play because it starts off funny and crazy, then it goes into an angry bit and then the second act is naturalistic and sad. The workshop gave us an idea of how it was to swap between the three different quickly and seamlessly.
Katie was really good during this. I found that the prompts we got given were really helpful because they gave us an idea of what sort of characters we could have in our performance.
Overall I think the workshop was a real success and was a cracking start to the work we are putting in to The Wonderful World of Dissocia.
