Target 1: I think that I need to improve some of my physical aspects, mainly flexibility but also things like use of extension. I think that improving these would really help and make my dances look more professional. My main target for my physical skills is to improve my flexibility in my legs. I will do this by doing high kicks across the floor. I can also do floor stretches to improve this. As well as improving my flexibility it will improve my extension because my leg will be straight when I am doing my high kicks. I will aim on improving the height of my high kicks throughout the rest of the year. I think this is an achievable target because although it may not seem that hard, it is the thing I need to work on the most and this will really help. I hope to be able to achieve a good high kick by the end of the year.
Target 2: Using videos of myself dancing, I am able to see myself and notice things that I can then work on, things such as focus and confidence. Using extrinsic feedback is useful because it is a lot more obvious what to improve on when watching yourself, than it is for physical skills. Using this will improve my confidence as I will be improving more and more having watched myself and changing what needs work. I hope that by my last dance performance there will be a visible difference in confidence.
