Tech Rehearsal 15th December

A lot of this rehearsal was spent setting up all of the staging and tech of the performances. I spent most of the time constructing Rapunzel's tower with Katie. I also set up the props table as this was my production role. This involved labelling a table with all the different areas that each prop should be in, so that everybody would know where to pick their prop up from instead of having to try and rummage around for it. I also helped to set up the sound desk, this meant running extension cables from inside so that everything could be plugged in and making sure no electricals got wet. Once everything was set up, we started running through the songs so that everybody could do a mic check, as we used radio microphones for the songs. The biggest challenge with the mics was that if you stood in front of the speakers you would get feedback so we all had to make sure that we weren't going past them at any point when we were singing. We also had to make sure that all the lighting worked and that all areas of the stage were visible as we were doing it outside in the dark. Once we had run most of the songs we had to pack all of the sound stuff away as we couldn't leave it out and also bringing in all the props, all the staging was left outside because it would have meant a lot of time before each rehearsal and performance to set it all up.
